There are a number of physical features which may affect readability such as font size, clear design and layout and extra textual features (pictures and diagrams).
In order to facilitate readability consider:
- Altering layout, titles, headings, subheadings and fonts;
- Adding aids as appropriate. These may include: pictures, diagrams, charts, maps, tables, graphs, vocabulary lists and definitions, glosses, pre- and during text questions, abstracts, L1 abstracts, hypertext links to further texts or non-textual aids, footnotes, recapitulations…..
